Attractive Nick Faldo design up in the mountains
Set in the cool environs of Tam Dao mountains around 1,000 metres above sea level, two hours from Hanoi, Thanh Lanh Golf Resort is a beautiful Nick Faldo-designed 18-hole golf course set on the edge of Thanh Lanh Lake. Its generous fairways follow the natural terrain of the land, with a number of natural streams crisscrossing the property, and the course is made up of a number of distinct sections, with hillside, parkland and links golf all represented on what is a thrilling round of golf played to an attractive mountain backdrop.
The clubhouse at Thanh Lanh Golf Resort, which overlooks the exciting finishing holes, resembles a middle-aged castle and offers all the usual modern amenities, including a pro shop. While it's two hours from Hanoi, it's more than possible to do a day trip from the city, although there are onsite villas available to rent.
