Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club (Sky Course)
About
The easier and more enjoyable of the two excellent courses at Sky Lake
The easier and generally more preferred course at Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club, the Sky Course is a championship-caliber 18-hole layout designed by Korea's Ahn Moon Hwan. Presenting a stiff but not sadistic challenge, this well-maintained course is set amidst the stunning natural beauty of Vietnam's mountainous landscape and features generous rolling fairways, challenging water hazards, and elevated, undulating greens with occasional steep run-offs. The course is also home to a variety of wildlife, including water buffalo and birds, which adds to the unique atmosphere.
There are some memorable holes, starting with the 3rd, a 230-yard par-3 that plays over water to a green guarded in front by a large bunker. The 5th is an unusual par 4 with an island fairway, requiring you to tee off at 45 degress to the pin and take on a tough approach over water, while the 8th is another great par 3 that plays over a lake to a green with a wrap-around bunker.
The back nine features two more water-heavy par 3s, the 12th and the 17th, but it's the par 4s that offer the real challenge, with the 13th a 448-yard monster that plays alongside water and features a 200-yard bunker that snakes up the side of the fairway and around the left side of the green.
The 16th is a par-5 that memorably turns more than 90 degrees between tee and green, and cutting off as much of the corner of the lake off the tee can leave a chance to get to the well-protected green in two, as long as you can land your ball in the narrow gap between two bunkers.
The final hole is a gently doglegging par 5 with a cluster of sand traps in both the landing zone and around the green, but at just 470 yards if offers a real chance to end your round on a high.
The clubhouse at Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club is modern and luxurious, and features decent locker rooms, a well-stocked golf shop and a restaurant serving a selection of Asian and Western cuisine. There is also a floodlit driving range with chipping and putting practice area. While there is an onsite resort, there's not much to do after dark so you're best off heading back to Hanoi after your round.
Overall, the Sky Course at Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club is a must-play for any golfer visiting Hanoi. With its challenging yet enjoyable layout, stunning natural beauty, and excellent facilities, it's sure to be a memorable round of golf.

This is an excellent golf course with a generous fairway and a good fast lawn. Each hole is different and, at times, rather demanding and requires course management.Course Info
