Enjoyable 18-hole resort course with 'beach' bunkers
Located 90 minutes from downtown Hanoi and named for a nearby lake, Heron Lake Golf Resort is a picturesque 18-hole resort course with artfully sculpted bunkers, abundant water hazards and well maintained greens. The course’s main standout feature are the “beach” bunkers where sand meets the water’s edge, with the white sand of the bunkers contrasting beautifully with the blue of the water.
The first is a heavily bunkered par-4 dogleg right, with sand traps running up the right hand side and in front of the green, and there's a tricky approach required into the 2nd green which sits right on a lake. The 8th, another doglegging par 4, plays along the waterfront, with one of those feature bunkers running all the way up the right.
The hardest run of holes comes in the middle of the back nine, a series of lakes making for some tough shots, notably at the 15th, which requires a water carry off the tee to a fairway bordered on the right by another lake.
Away from the course, there's a covered driving range and practice green, while the modern clubhouse is home to decent locker rooms and an excellent restaurant serving local and international fare. While not the most spectacular course in the Hanoi area, nonetheless you're guaranteed an enjoyable day out at Heron Lake Golf Course.

Excellent Course
Excellent course, mostly flat, a few hazards but not overwhelming. Greens were slow due to humidity. Excellent overall service too incl. our 3 caddies who each expect to receive at least 300VND.Not so good.
Green was awfully slow. Hard to communicate with caddies. They do not understand the English at all.Course Info
